Garden Reach Shipbuilders and Engineers (GRSE) on Tuesday delivered it 102nd warship, ICGS Amrit Kaur, to the Indian Coast Guard. This is the third in the series-of-five Fast Patrol Vessel (FPV) that the miniratna-category-1 warship building company under the Ministry of Defence is building. Union Government on Monday announced Bharatiya Poshan Krishi Kosh which is a repository of diverse crops across 128 agro-climatic zones for better nutritional outcomes. The Kosh aims at reducing malnutrition through a multi-sectoral results-based framework, including agriculture, among women and children across the country. Delivering the special address, noted philanthropist and Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates said, not only India, but the whole world is facing the challenge of malnutrition. He said, in many cases, deaths of children below five is result of malnutrition. Lauding India's efforts to tackle malnutrition, Mr Gates said, not many countries are talking about addressing this challenge. On November 16, 2019 the Strike Corps of the Indian Army(IA) has conducted its second phase of the exercise named Sindu Sudarshan-VII in Jaisalmer-Barmer deserts of Rajasthan from November 12-18, 2019.The aim of the exercise was to evaluate the capability and battle readiness of the defence forces in an integrated air-land battle in a semi-developed terrain of the desert. The Bhopal-based strike 21 Corps, formed in 1990 and rechristened as the ‘Sudarshan Chakra Corps’ of the southern command, has undertaken this year’s exercise. 40,000 jawans, 700 ‘A’ category vehicles, 300 guns of the Chakra Corps of Southern Command participated in the exercise. The 3rd phase of the exercise will be conducted in the Pokhran field firing range of Rajasthan from November 29-December 4, 2019. Previously, the first phase of the exercise was carried out in Pokhran using Integrated Battle Groups(IBG) in the month of October 2019.Click Here to Read News For November 17 2019

Union Minister for Health and Family Welfare Harsh Vardhan on Saturday launched SAANS in Gandinagar,Gujarath, a campaign aimed at reducing child mortality due to pneumonia, which contributes to around 15% deaths annually of children under the age of five.
SAANS, short for ‘Social Awareness and Action to Neutralise Pneumonia Successfully’ was launched by the Union Health Ministry to mobilise people to protect children from pneumonia, and train health personnel and other stakeholders to provide prioritised treatment to control the disease.
The fourth edition of the India-South Korea International Cherry Blossom Festival has concluded after four days of festivities featuring a bouquet of programmes and shows.
The Cherry Blossom Festival, which was organised by the Forest and Environment Department and the Institute of Bio-resources and Sustainable Development (IBSD), offered programmes for people of all ages. From photography, beauty contests and cosplay to a chilli-eating competition, the festival had something for everyone. Handicraft and food stalls were also set up on the Polo grounds on the occasion.
