Smriti Irani, Women, and Child Development (WCD)Minister stated that the government has set a target to connect 44 crore people through Poshan Abhiyaan to tackle malnutrition, at a function in New Delhi. She also gave away the Poshan Abhiyaan Awards for 2018-19 in different categories to the States, Districts, blocks and Anganwadi Workers for their valuable contributions in promoting the mission and ensuring that it reaches every household in the country.
A total of 363 awards were given and 22 crore rupees were disbursed to the awardees with the aim to motivate the primary stakeholders and encourage large scale citizen participation in creating widespread awareness to tackle malnutrition in the country.
” Composite Water Management Index 2019” (CWMI 2.0) for the year 2017-2018 by Government’s think tank NITI Aayog(National Institution for Transforming India) in association with Ministry of Jal Shakti and Ministry of Rural Development ,in which Gujarat has again performed better in water management practices to get top spot with a score of 75.
In the given index, states have been ranked across 9 themes &it covers 25 states and 2 union territories(Puducherry and Delhi). The Index does not include data from West Bengal, Mizoram, Manipur and Jammu & Kashmir.

Culture and Tourism Minister Prahlad Singh Patel launched the book titled- the Diary of Manu Gandhi’ at a function in New Delhi yesterday. The book has been brought out by National Archives of India, on the occasion of 150th anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi in collaboration with Oxford University Press.
The Diary of Manu Gandhi originally written in Gujarati language has been edited and translated by a well known scholar Dr. Tridip Suhrud. The first volume of the book covers the period of 1943-1944. Manu Gandhi was a grand niece of Mahatma Gandhi.

Reserve Bank of India(RBI) has permitted processing of e-mandate on credit and debit cards along with Prepaid Payment Instruments (PPIs), including wallets for recurring merchant payments with AFA (Additional Factor Authentication, a security measure put in place for card payments that requires OTP – one-time password verification) during registration and 1st transaction. It will come into effect from 1 September 2019. Cards shall be only for recurring payment transactions and not for a ‘once-only’ payment. Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has extended the timings of Real-Time Gross Settlement (RTGS) transactions by an hour from 7 AM instead of 8 AM with effect from August 26, 2019, with the aim to increase the availability of the RTGS system.

RTGS is used for large-value instantaneous fund transfers with the minimum limit of Rs 2 lakh &there is no maximum limit.
A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between the Indian Army’s Army Welfare Housing Organisation (AWHO) and the Tata Realty housing to provide quality housing to army personnel. By this MoU, the Indian army can now take over dwelling units in 13 ‘Ready to Move in’ projects of Tata Realty pan India.
The project of Tata Realty is spread across 10 cities including Gurugram, Chennai, Bengaluru, Pune among others. The discount rate is kept between 11-27%.

Central Board of Trustees (CBT) approved a proposal to recommend the restoration of the commuted value of pension after 15 years. The amendment in the Employees' Pension Scheme (EPS) 1995 will benefit around 6.3 lakh pensioners. The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between India and Maldives on Training and Capacity Building Programme for Maldivian Civil Servants was operationalised after the discussions held between the senior officials of the Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances (DARPG), the National Centre for Good Governance (NCGG) and the Maldives Civil Service Commission in a ceremony held at the Civil Services Commission of Maldives at Male, Maldives.
According to the order of the Union Home Ministry, all Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs) personnel will now retire at a uniform age of 60 years. The decision comes in the wake of a January 2019 order of the Delhi High Court where it had called the policy of different age of superannuation as discriminatory and unconstitutional, and said it created two classes in the uniformed forces.
