Goku powers up even more and pushes the Spirit Bomb back towards Jiren, though Jiren is able to repel the Spirit Bomb once again with just a glare. Goku then powers up to his maximum, which locks the Spirit Bomb in a stalemate. Whis realizes that Jiren is at least as powerful as a God of Destruction, and probably the mortal rumored to be unable to be defeated by a God of Destruction. As the two struggle to overpower each other, the Spirit Bomb suddenly collapses into a small black hole, which absorbs Goku and causes him to vanish, before generating a gigantic explosion. The Grand Minister rules that since Goku's own attack apparently vaporized him, Jiren will not be disqualified for destroying him. As Grand Zenō and Future Grand Zenō prepare to eliminate Goku, he suddenly reappears and reaches a new level of power. Goku's new transformation resembles his base state, with slightly spikier hair and a silvery-blue glow. Goku resumes the fight, and he is able to go toe-to-toe with Jiren. Whis theorizes that the clash between the Spirit Bomb and Goku's powers enabled him to break through his limits and triggered a transformation that allowed him to use an ability called Ultra Instinct (身勝手の極意”兆” Migatte no Gokui). Goku uses another powerful attack in an attempt to eliminate Jiren, but he fails, and exhausts his newfound power. Jiren knocks him away, and Hit attempts to take advantage of the opportunity and attacks Jiren.
